Melissa Keller- Head Golf Professional
Melissa is no stranger to the game of golf. She has been playing since the ripe age of 4; at first just to keep up with her older brother. Growing up in Southern California offered year-round golf opportunities and as a self-taught golfer, Melissa was considered a “natural”. After a successful start in Junior and High School Golf, she was offered a full scholarship at Long Beach State to compete on their golf team.
After an injury, she decided to put her competitive game on hold and took a job at a course in Temecula, Ca. In a year, with her injury somewhat healed, the golf game came back and the itch to play followed. After a move to Scottsdale, AZ and her work at a private golf club “The Country Club at DC Ranch”, she was approached with the offer of a sponsorship to compete. This allowed her to completely focus on her game. Travel and the opportunity to play in different climates and countries was a dream come true. She competed on the Canadian Tour, Cactus Tour, and had a short stint on the Women’s Hooters Tour.
After a recurrence of the old injury, she put down the clubs once again and relocated to the Pacific Northwest. Melissa understands the need for growth in Women’s golf and is committed to making this happen. She has always had a passion for the game and continues to instill that in many of her students. She shares in their excitement as they progress in this game called golf.
She is currently enrolled in the PGA Program and is hoping to be a Class A member by the end of 2010.
